Hangul Bloom
Privacy Policy
In short: Hangul Bloom does not require an account. Your word-learning progress stays on your device. The app uses Google Mobile Ads, Google's User Messaging Platform, and Firebase Analytics, which may process limited app, device, advertising, and usage data as described below.
1. Who we are
Hangul Bloom ("we," "us," or "our") provides the Hangul Bloom Android application, a Korean vocabulary learning puzzle. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the app and this policy website.
2. Information stored only on your device
The app stores your selected difficulty, word rotation state, completed learning dates, streak, and current learning progress in local app storage. We do not upload this learning data to our own servers or associate it with an account.
You can delete this local data at any time by clearing Hangul Bloom's app storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.
3. Information processed by third-party services
We use the following Google services. Depending on your device, region, consent choices, and service configuration, they may process the data categories below:
- Firebase Analytics: app-instance identifiers, app lifecycle events, screen views, sessions, approximate location derived from a masked IP address, and device or app information such as operating system, device model, language, and app version. We do not set a Hangul Bloom user ID or send your Korean words, answers, or learning progress as custom Analytics events. Analytics advertising-ID collection and ad-personalization signals are disabled by default in the app configuration.
- Google Mobile Ads: IP address, approximate location derived from IP, app launches, taps, ad impressions and video interactions, diagnostic and performance information, app-set or device identifiers, and—where available and permitted by your consent and device settings—the Android advertising ID. These data may be used for advertising, analytics, security, and fraud prevention.
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): consent status and privacy choices needed to determine whether ads and related storage may be requested in regions where consent is required.
- Vercel: when you visit this Privacy Policy website, Vercel may process standard web-request information such as IP address, browser or device information, request time, and security logs to deliver and protect the website.
Data transmitted by the Google SDKs is encrypted in transit using TLS. For more information, review Google's Privacy Policy, Firebase Privacy and Security, Google Advertising, and Vercel's Privacy Policy.
4. Information we do not ask you to provide
Hangul Bloom does not offer account creation and does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, photos, camera, microphone, payment details, or user-generated content. The app does not sell your personal information.
5. How information is used
- to provide the app, remember local learning progress, and maintain core functionality;
- to understand general app usage and improve stability and usability;
- to load banner and rewarded advertisements and provide an earned retry after a rewarded ad;
- to manage consent and privacy choices where required;
- to detect fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems; and
- to comply with applicable legal obligations.
6. Legal bases and regional privacy rights
Where applicable, we process information based on your consent, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the app, performance of the service you request, and compliance with legal obligations. In the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and other regions where consent is required, Google's consent message may ask you to choose how advertising and Analytics-related data may be used.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive information about personal data processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also have the right to appeal a response or complain to your local data protection authority. Because Hangul Bloom has no account and does not receive your local learning data, we may not be able to identify Analytics or advertising records as belonging to you without additional information held by the service provider.
7. Your privacy choices
- Use the Privacy choices link in the app when it is displayed to review choices managed through Google's UMP.
- Use Android's advertising privacy controls to reset or delete the advertising ID and manage ad topics or personalization where available.
- Clear the app's storage or uninstall Hangul Bloom to delete locally stored learning data.
- You may withdraw consent where supported; withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
8. Sharing and international transfers
Information described in Section 3 may be processed by Google and Vercel as service providers or third parties under their respective terms and privacy policies. Their infrastructure may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, they use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
If you use Android's share sheet, the app provides a short Hangul Bloom message to the app you select. Hangul Bloom does not learn which person receives the message. The selected service handles the shared content under its own privacy policy.
9. Retention and deletion
Local learning data remains on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall the app. Data processed by Google or Vercel is retained according to the applicable service settings, legal requirements, and their published retention practices. We retain information available to us only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
You may submit a privacy or deletion inquiry using the contact mechanism below. We will assess requests under applicable law and delete or request deletion of information we control when it can reasonably be identified. We cannot delete data stored only on your device, but you can remove it using the steps above.
10. Children's privacy
Hangul Bloom is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. If the law in your country sets a higher minimum age for consent to data processing, the app is not directed to children below that age without authorization from a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information in violation of applicable law, contact us so we can review the concern.
11. Security
We minimize the information handled by Hangul Bloom, keep learning progress on the device, use HTTPS/TLS-enabled third-party services, and restrict SDK use to the functions described in this policy. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when app features, SDKs, legal requirements, or data practices change. We will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or store listing where appropriate.
13. Contact us
For privacy questions, rights requests, or deletion inquiries, use the Hangul Bloom privacy request form. Do not include passwords, advertising IDs, or other sensitive information in a public request. We may provide a private follow-up channel if information is needed to handle your request.
